The ECC26 Best Student Paper award recognizes excellence in a paper presented at the European Control Conference whose primary author is a student at the time of submission.

Eligibility and requirements

In order to be eligible, the candidate must:

  • be the primary author of a paper accepted for presentation at ECC26
  • be a student (PhD, Master or Bachelor student) registered at an academic institution (at the time of submission)
  • present the paper at the conference

Application procedure

Nominations opened on 20 March 2026. To apply, nominators must upload the nomination application to PaperCept, on a letterhead of the nominator. The letter should also include a declaration that the nominee was enrolled as a student at the date of the paper submission. Each nominator can make an application for only one student. The nomination deadline is 17 April 2026.

Award Committee

The Award Committee for the 2026 Best Student Paper Award is chaired by Prof. Clara Ionescu (Ghent University, Belgium). The committee also includes Prof. Ascensión Zafra‑Cabeza (University of Seville, Spain) and Prof. Sindri Magnússon (Stockholm University, Sweden).
