To prepare an outstanding technical program we invite you to submit:

The submissions will be evaluated by the Conference Editorial Board and International Program Committee. During the review process all the people involved (Editorial Board, Committees, Associate Editors, anonymous reviewers) undertake to respect an implicit confidentiality pact on all contents of submitted papers of which they become aware.

For all accepted papers, the authors will be asked to sign a copyright transfer on the contents of their paper(s). Accepted papers will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore subject to meeting IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements. Pre-print versions of the papers submitted to ECC 2026 can also be published on a pre-print server, such as arxiv.

Furthermore, we also welcome submission of:

• Pre-conference Workshop proposals
• Tutorial proposals
• Industry abstracts

that will complement the technical program by giving to all participants a view on the control-related challenges arising today from academia and industry.

The submission of papers proposing recent advances of applied control research in industry applications is encouraged.

How to Submit Your Contribution

All papers, invited session proposals, pre-conference workshop proposals and tutorial proposals must be submitted electronically through the PaperCept Conference Management System.

Authors are advised to read PaperCept’s Getting Started Manual for Authors and PDF Compliance Guidelines carefully. Only PDF files will be accepted.

Format Requirements

Submissions that do not meet the format requirements will be rejected. We highly recommend using one of the ECC26 templates to prepare your submission. Templates and Resources are available for download for the following systems:

For the purpose of review only, manuscripts up to eight (8) pages in the standard two-column ECC conference format will be considered. If accepted, the final manuscripts are limited to a length of six (6) pages. Accepted papers exceeding the normal length may be included in the proceedings upon payment of over-length page charges for each page in excess of six pages, up to a maximum of two additional pages.

Invited Session Proposal

Proposals are invited from participants who wish to organize invited sessions. An invited session comprises six thematically coherent papers. The session should be composed in order to achieve added value over the mere presentation of individual papers, by focusing for example on emerging challenges or different angles on established problems that one would not expect to see in a regular contributed paper session. Proposals for invited sessions must be submitted through the PaperCept Conference Management System.

Proposals are limited to six (6) pages in the standard two-column ECC conference format and should contain a summary describing the motivation and relevance of the proposed session, as well as a short overview of the individual papers and how they fit into the overall theme. Invited sessions proposals are limited to 6 papers. Larger sessions should be split up in multiples of 6 and the according number of session proposals should be submitted under a separate, but related title. In the invited session proposals this should be clearly stated. If an invited session is accepted but some of its constituent papers are rejected, the Program Committee reserves the right to replace the rejected invited papers with compatible contributed papers. Conversely, accepted invited papers from a rejected invited session will be included in regular contributed paper sessions. The invited session proposal have to be submitted before the invited papers of the session. Upon submission of the proposal the session organizer will receive a session code, which should be communicated to the authors of the invited papers for the submission of their contributions.

We advise invited session organizers to submit their proposals at least one week before the conference deadline in order to allow sufficient time for the submission of the invited papers.

All Invited sessions organisers are invited to discuss their plans with the Invited Sessions Chair Prof. Aneel Tanwani (aneel.tanwani@laas.fr) at an early stage to help with planning.

Invited Papers

The six invited session papers must be submitted separately by their authors using the session code provided by the invited session organizer. Invited papers will undergo a review process similar to that of contributed papers. Therefore, they should be of comparable high quality and should abide by the same formatting and submission rules; in particular, brief abstracts or extended abstracts will most likely be rejected. Invited papers must be submitted through the PaperCept Conference Management System and must be formatted in accordance with the submission policy. Pre-Conference Workshops

The ECC2026 Pre-Conference Workshops will take place at the conference venue on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. These workshops offer participants an opportunity to explore cutting-edge advances, open challenges, and emerging topics in systems and control. Attendance is open to all conference participants for an additional fee.

Workshop Goals Workshops aim to:

• Foster active discussion and collaboration among attendees.
• Cover innovative topics or formats not featured in the main conference.
• Bridge connections between control and related fields.
• Create interactive, inclusive environments for diverse participants.

Proposal Guidelines: We welcome proposals that emphasize interactivity, diversity, and impact. Organizers should submit proposals via the PaperCept Conference Management System by January 31, 2026.

Proposal Requirements

Title Concise and descriptive.
Organizers Names, affiliations, emails, and short bios (1–2 sentences). Indicate the primary contact.
Abstract Max 250 words (for conference website).
Motivation & Objectives Relevance of the topic and workshop goals.
Target Audience Intended participants and expected attendance.
Tentative Program Duration (half-day/full-day), format (talks, panels, posters), and contributor list.
Relevance & Impact Timeliness and importance of the topic. Include past editions if applicable.
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Statement on promoting diversity (e.g., gender, geography, career stage). Outline DEI plans.

• The Program Committee reserves the right to reject or cancel workshops based on content or low pre-registrations. Fees will be refunded if canceled.

How to submit: In addition to sending an email to the workshop chair, Professor Guillaume Mercère, the workshop proposal must be submitted via the PaperCept Conference Management System and formatted in accordance with the submission policy.

Tutorials

Tutorials involve a formal presentation of the principles (e.g., theory, methodology, and tools) behind an established research area to enhance the knowledge and skills of the participants in that area. The duration of each Tutorial is 2 hours and they will be scheduled during the days of the conference. They will be included in the program in Papercept as an intrinsic part of the Program in a dedicated track.
We particularly welcome proposals that cover material or use presentation formats that are not found within the main conference that increase the interest for the event, enhance interaction and discussion amongst participants, and make useful connections to fields outside of control.

Organizers of Tutorial Sessions need to submit their proposal in PaperCept Conference Management System by the deadline for tutorial session proposal and they are encouraged to contact the Tutorial Session Chair prior to submission. A proposal should include the title, list of instructors and their affiliations, an overview of the event (e.g., abstract, keywords, objectives, motivation, content, structure, and tentative program), and intended audience, as well as role and brief bio of each speaker.

Interested Tutorial organizers will receive a session CODE that they must communicate to the individual speakers of the tutorial session. All the individual speakers, by using the session CODE, must submit their talk title, abstract and 3 keywords (no full paper will be required, only the text of the abstract is needed). To be evaluated for acceptance a Tutorial Session must consist in Papercept of a submitted proposal and the associated (via the CODE) submitted talk proposals. If the titles and abstract of the tutorial talks are not submitted by the deadline, the Tutorial Session proposal cannot be accepted. If the session is accepted all the submitted abstracts will appear in the program provided that the speakers submit a final version of the abstracts.

The Program Committee reserves the right to reject tutorial proposals based on content.

Industry Abstracts

Industry Abstract submissions aim at offering the possibility for industry representatives to present results at the conference, while avoiding some of the hard constraints of the regular paper submission type. This allows for presentations of application- and industry-oriented contributions, and presentations of recent preliminary results.

Specifics of Industry Abstracts submission

• Papers typically of 1 to 2 pages, with a 2 pages hard limit
• At least one of the authors should have an industry affiliation at the time of submission.
• Fast acceptance/rejection decision (ad hoc reviewing process)
• Not included in the ECC Proceedings and no Copyright transfer
• Presentations in dedicated sessions

Exceptionally, some of the Industry Abstract based presentations shall be positioned in the program in regular type of sessions. This will be in particular the case for application-oriented Industry Abstract submissions that fall in the scope of Invited Sessions. The organizers of Invited Sessions who plan to attract such Industry Abstract contributions are invited to mention these in their Invited Session proposal.

Industry Abstracts must be submitted through the  PaperCept Conference Management System.
Participants with an accepted industry abstract are required to register for the conference (with paper) and to complete their final upload within the deadline.

Industry Abstracts might be rejected by the Program Committee based on the abstract and quality.

Late Breaking Results

Late-Breaking Results submissions provide a forum for the timely presentation of very recent, emerging, or last-minute results that could not be submitted by the regular paper deadline. This category is open to both academic and industrial authors and is intended to foster rapid dissemination and discussion of novel ideas, early findings, prototypes, or ongoing work.

Specifics of Late-Breaking Results submissions

• Papers typically of 2-4 pages, with a hard limit of 4 pages
• Fast acceptance/rejection decision via an ad-hoc reviewing process
• Not included in the final ECC Proceedings and no copyright transfer
• Presentations in dedicated Late-Breaking Results sessions or to fill up regular and invited sessions
• Will appear in the conference preprints but do not count as official conference publications/will be not indexed

Late-Breaking Results must be submitted via the PaperCept Conference Management System.

Authors of accepted Late-Breaking Results submissions are required to register for the conference (with paper) and to complete the final upload by the specified deadline.

Late-Breaking Results submissions may be rejected by the Program Committee after reviewing by a dedicated committee based on relevance and quality.
